Leading Fuel POD system providers, TouchStar Technologies, is pleased to announce that J-Gas Ltd has successfully implemented their on-truck computing solution. J-Gas, part of leading fuel distributors, Johnston Fuels Ltd, distributes LPG to both domestic and business customers across Scotland and England. The decision to implement the solution was as part of a drive towards a seamless, real time and cost efficient operation

J-Gas pride themselves on delivering a reliable and efficient service. The implementation of on-truck computing solution has provided J-Gas with a real time fuel delivery system. Integrating the GasStar mobile application, the solution has been successfully installed across their Southampton and Aberdeen depots. The system utilises TouchStar’s ATEX certified TS3000 in-cab computer.  The TS3000 was ideal for their operation as it provided a proven robust link between the on-truck meters, Epson printers and Fuelsoft back office system to deliver a truly paperless environment.

TouchStar worked in partnership with J-Gas, undertaking the system specification, development, manufacture and installation of the solution.  Stephen Wilkins, I.T Operations Manager, Johnston Fuels comments, “TouchStar’s  experience in the gas logistics sector, coupled with a proven track record in delivering hardware and mobile software applications was key in our decision to move forward. Since the system was installed, work is now allocated easily and remotely to vehicles and delivery confirmations updated automatically in the back office upon the completion of a job. This system is set to provide significant enhancements in control and efficiency and will ultimately save J-Gas money.
